What are caches?
Marvel Snap offers to obtain cards through a collection level system that you go up each time you increase the rarity of your cards.
From level 500 and up to level 1000, you will get your cards by opening "Collector's Cache". However, caches do not always contain cards. So you will have to rely on luck. But before being disappointed, wait to see what the reserves are at level 1000+.
The Collector's Caches
Collector's Caches open every 8 and 12 collection levels from level 500 to level 1000. They replace the mystery cards you had until now, which guaranteed to get you a new card.
But now that you've almost reached Pool 3, we're starting to play in the big leagues... and the lucky ones. Because yes, from now on you will only have a one in two chance of getting a new card..
% de drop rate | Rewards |
50% | New map (from pool 3) |
15% | 150 Credits |
5% | 300 Credits |
15% | 15 Boosters |
5% | 30 Boosters |
10% | Gold 150 |
Well, you will understand, your speed to unlock new cards will decrease quite a bit for 500 levels of collection. But keep some tissues, because with the Collector's Reserves, you will shed tears.
The Collector's Reserves
After collecting level 1000, you unlock the Collector's Reserves. Long story short, they're Collector's Caches, but in addition to getting a new map or currency, you add cosmetics (map variants and avatar) to them. Free skins, nice, right? Well not really. Your chance of getting a new card is now 25% per Reserve.
Yes, you have a one in four chance of getting a new card.
Ah, and to top it all off, Reserves only unlock every 12 collection levels from now on.
% de drop rate | Rewards |
25% | New map (from pool 3) |
12.5% | Random Map Variant |
12.5% | random avatar |
15% | 200 Credits |
5% | 400 Credits |
15% | 20 Boosters |
5% | 40 Boosters |
10% | Gold 200 |
A pity system
But do not worry ! The developers have planned everything! If you're really unlucky, don't panic, a “pity” system has been implemented. If you're unfamiliar with pity in games of chance, it's a system that guarantees you 100% of getting an item if you haven't gotten one for a certain amount of time.
Basically, for Collector's Reserves, if you haven't had any new cards for 9 Reserves, the 10th will automatically be a new card. Phew!
To give you an example, since we passed the 1000 collection level (1726 at the time of this writing), we have opened 60 Collector's Reserves. In 60 reserves, we unlocked 16 new cards. That's an average of one new card every 4 pools (every 48 collection levels).
In short, arm yourself with patience, it will take a lot (a lot) of play to unlock the remaining cards. Knowing that at the release, a wave of new cards is expected, do not expect to come across the card you are missing to complete your deck right away.
