Kingdom Hearts IV is in development at Square Enix

If it took nearly 15 years between the second and third episode, Square Enix prefers not to leave any doubt. Kingdom Hearts IV is in development, and under the Unreal Engine 5 moreover. For the moment, no release date or platform has been announced.

Few details are available for the moment concerning the game, its development having just been unveiled. However, this is the start of a new storyline: the Lost Master arc. Sora wakes up in a new world, the Quadratum, along with Strelitzia. But the young wielder of the Keyblade will have plenty to do, since new threats are emerging, including a faction that prefers to remain in the shadows.

On the gameplay side, few changes seem to be on the horizon. However, the Keyblade could now be used as a grappling hook to reach opponents more effectively, as well as to dodge them. We can learn more in the months or even years to come, but there is no doubt that a great adventure awaits Sora and his friends.
