Overwatch 2 will be available on October 4 on PC and consoles

As the first Beta phase of Overwatch 2 has come to an end, Blizzard has revealed the release date of its new game (source in English), which will be available from October 4 on PC, Xbox Series, Xbox One, PS5, PS4 and Nintendo Switch. The studio also announces the arrival of a new Hero with the Junker Queen, the queen of Junkertown. The content present when the game is released will be unveiled in detail in a special conference organized on Thursday, June 16 at 19 p.m. (French time).

Finally a release date for Overwatch 2

After almost three years of waiting, Overwatch fans finally know when Blizzard's FPS will be released. The studio has therefore announced a release for October 4, 2022, a date a little later than expected (we expected a release in early September) but which remains in line with what had been announced.

The game will be available for free, via a free-to-play system, on PC and consoles. Indeed, from October 4, OW2 will be accessible for players on Xbox Series, Xbox One, PS5, PS4 and Nintendo Switch.

Regarding the content, it will be unveiled in detail during a special conference on Thursday June 16 at 19 p.m. This stream should therefore present the different game modes as well as a more complete list of the new heroes of Overwatch 2. Note that at this level, the Junker Queen, a character eagerly awaited for years by fans of the lore of the game, will be one of the new heroes available at the release of OW2.

While waiting for October 4, it should be remembered that Overwatch 2 will be accessible via different Beta phases. It is also likely that free access (via an open Beta) will be planned during the summer, shortly before the game is released.
